Shark cage diving or shark based activities can be arranged and is an easy drive from Hermanus. Hermanus has wonderful beaches stretching for miles and swimming areas with life guards. Walk from our front gate along the cliffs to town or the New Harbour and watch whales jump or swim sometimes so close you feel you can touch them or just sit and enjoy the stunning tranquility and beauty. Although it is only a short distance you can still have the tuk tuk service pick you up and take you to and from your restaurant in the evening. Hermanus Whale Watching In season we count over 150 whales in our bay. The Southern right whale visits us from the end of May to the end of November every year. Shark Cage Diving Shark cage diving is done from nearby Kleinbaai and this will get the blood pumping. This will normally cost in the region of about R1000 per day per person and normally lasts 4-6 hours. They will take you again on another trip if no sharks are spotted. Hermanus Sea Kayaking Kayaking is possible on the sea or lagoons and if you are lucky the dolphins will swim with you. Hermanus Quad Biking This tour goes up through the Hamilton Russell vineyards and olive groves, and was just WOW! The views of Hermanus are stunning from Rotary Way. The blue crane is found in numbers on farms close to Hermanus, Stanford and Caledon. The 2 lagoons support a huge number with my favorites i.e. Sandboarding near Hermanus Sun, lots of sand and wind in your hair are all part of a sand boarding experience. The sand boarding will stop when you have had enough. We only stock local wine and the standard is very high. Most of the estates have tasting rooms and some have restaurants as well. All rates are quoted per person sharing and include a full breakfast. All rooms fully en suite with double vanity, bath and separate shower unless otherwise stated. All rooms have under-carpet heating, heated towel rails and hair drier.
